Job Description
Mary's Woods is a well-established non-profit senior living community founded in 2001, located on a serene 40-acre park-like setting in Lake Oswego. The community offers a variety of living options including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and residential care. With a rich heritage and a spirit of caring, Mary's Woods has cultivated a welcoming culture that prioritizes the well-being and comfort of its residents. The organization is dedicated to providing exceptional care and services, fostering a safe and supportive environment for seniors and their families. The community's mission is deeply rooted in core values such as respect, compassion, excellence, stewardship, and justice, which reflect in every aspect of life at Mary's Woods. Employees at Mary's Woods are not just staff members; they are valued contributors to a mission that honors hospitality and community-mindedness. Working here means being part of a team that supports these values and actively works to make a positive impact in residents' lives.
We are seeking a Maintenance Porter to join our Facility Services team in a full-time capacity. This key role involves diverse responsibilities such as deliveries, general maintenance, and upkeep of the buildings and grounds throughout the community. The Maintenance Porter plays an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, guests, and staff. Duties include assisting with set-up and clean-up for special events, emptying trash and recycling bins, delivering mail and packages, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring all areas remain tidy and free of litter. Additionally, the role involves conducting "trash-out" duties for vacated apartments, involving removal of abandoned furniture and waste. The ideal candidate should have a positive and friendly demeanor, enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment, and be capable of addressing maintenance needs promptly and efficiently. This is an opportunity to contribute to an organization where respect and compassion guide daily operations and where the community you help maintain is genuinely appreciated.
The position offers a competitive starting wage from $18.50 per hour, with starting pay based on experience, certification, and education. Work schedules are from Tuesday to Saturday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with the requirement to work weekends, evenings, and holidays occasionally. Employees can expect a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, and a flexible spending account beginning the first of the month after hire (for those working 30 or more hours weekly). Other benefits include a free employee Trimet pass, employee assistance program, 403b retirement plan with employer match, paid time off and holidays, tuition assistance, access to a fitness center and pool, and a complimentary food item per shift. For those motivated by meaningful work in a supportive, mission-driven environment, this Maintenance Porter role at Mary's Woods represents an excellent career opportunity.
