The Porter position at Gerber Collision & Glass is an entry-level role that plays a crucial part in ensuring quality vehicle repairs culminate in excellent customer satisfaction. The Porter is responsible for cleaning customer vehicles before and after repairs, maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the shop and office facilities, and assisting with general upkeep of the grounds including snow removal. It is a dynamic role that requires attention to detail, strong work ethic, and the ability to multitask. Job Duties
- Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
- maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office including emptying garbage cans, cleaning floors, and dusting countertops and work areas
- maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area including emptying waste cans, sweeping floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and organizing tools and equipment
- maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
- pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning
- perform exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
- transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
