The Porter role at Gerber Collision & Glass is a vital position that ensures quality standards are upheld by maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of customer vehicles as well as the work environment. As a Porter, responsibilities include pre-washing vehicles before repair operations commence, thorough interior and exterior cleaning upon completion of repairs, and maintaining cleanliness across office and production areas. The role also involves some physical activities such as moving vehicles to and from sublet locations for repairs and performing light landscaping tasks like shoveling sidewalks.

This is a part-time or full-time hourly position with compensation ranging from $16.00 to $18.00 per hour depending on experience. The position requires an individual who is detail-oriented, willing to learn, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced automotive repair environment. Successful candidates are expected to operate motor vehicles safely, have a valid driver’s license, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and quality standards. Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
  • Maintain daily housekeeping of the interior office including emptying garbage cans, cleaning floors, and dusting countertops and work areas
  • Maintain daily housekeeping of the interior production area including emptying waste cans, sweeping floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment properly
  • Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
  • Pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs
  • Clean exterior and interior of customer vehicles after repairs
  • Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
