The Lot Porter position at Camping World plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the dealership lot by providing essential driving and support services. The individual in this role is responsible for maneuvering RV units, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the lot, and assisting with various operational tasks that contribute to a first-class customer experience. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a safe and appealing environment for both customers and coworkers.
As a Lot Porter, you will be responsible for parking and moving RV units quickly and safely, supporting the installation and removal of window pricing, and keeping the lot and aisles clean through regular washing and daily upkeep. You will also write work orders, track issues with vehicles, and ensure that all units are in proper working order. Additional duties include sweeping, trash removal, securing vehicles and equipment against weather damage, maintaining physical inventory, and preparing units for customer viewing by managing slide-outs, jacks, steps, awnings, and door locks.
This position demands physical stamina and the ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, dust, and moisture. The role involves operating yard tractors, forklifts, and RVs, as well as handling small repairs and troubleshooting problems with equipment. Safety is a top priority, and you will be expected to maintain a secure and orderly work area.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Towing experience preferred
- Ability to use yard tractor and/or forklift
- Ability to drive an RV
- Experience using generators and operating slide-outs
- Ability to repair small items and identify problem units
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- May lift up to 25 lbs and/or move up to 50 lbs. with assistive devices
- Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, crawling, and bending
- Exposure to heights and hazards related to working with electrical and welding equipment
- Environmental conditions include heat, cold, humidity, noise, dust and wetness
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties
- Park and move RV units in a timely fashion
- Ensures window prices on recreational vehicles are installed and removed as instructed
- Maintains weekly lot washes and ensures all units and isles are clean
- Writes work orders, tracks problems and ensures units are in proper working order
- Sweeps, picks up trash and debris, empties garbage cans, keeps lot clean and professional in appearance
- Keeps units and equipment secure from weather
- Maintains physical inventory on a weekly basis
- Ensures slide-outs are in, jacks are down, steps are down, select awnings are opened and the doors are unlocked
- Maintains a safe and clean work area for customers and coworkers
