Job Description
HRI Properties, established over thirty-five years ago in New Orleans, Louisiana, is a well-established, full-service real estate development company renowned for its expertise in the adaptive reuse of historic structures. As a national leader in this specialized field, HRI Properties operates with a vertically integrated approach that encompasses development, construction, design, governmental relations, environmental considerations, historic landmark designation, and property management. The company’s vast experience and comprehensive capabilities make it a respected name within the real estate sector, offering a diverse range of services that contribute to the revitalization and sustainable use of historic buildings and properties.
HRI Management, LLC (HRIM), the multi-family property management arm of HRI Properties, manages an extensive and diverse portfolio that includes fifty-three multi-family developments with a total of five thousand units. These properties offer luxury, affordable, and mixed-income living options, complemented by over two hundred thousand square feet of office and retail space across a five-state region. HRIM’s success is largely driven by its dedicated team of associates who impact the communities they serve through attentive management and support. The company prides itself on fostering a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusivity, and longevity, with one of the highest employee tenure records in the industry. HRIM actively encourages a work environment that embraces all ethnicities, cultures, ages, and lifestyles, allowing individuals to choose to work where they feel valued and appreciated.
The role of Porter/Groundskeeper at HRIM is a vital position responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of community models, vacant apartments, and public access areas used by current and prospective residents. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring that all spaces within the communities are welcoming and in excellent condition. The Porter/Groundskeeper is tasked with various cleaning duties, including mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal, focused on both interior spaces such as offices and models, as well as exterior grounds and dumpster areas.
In addition to routine cleaning responsibilities, this position involves thorough preparation of apartments after move-outs to ready them for new residents. Maintaining the housekeeping storage room, monitoring inventory of cleaning supplies, and reporting any maintenance issues are also critical aspects of the job. The Porter/Groundskeeper works collaboratively with maintenance and other staff members to support overall property upkeep and ensure safety and comfort for all residents.
Physically demanding, the role requires the ability to walk and stand for long periods, perform repetitive motions such as bending and reaching, and handle heavy loads, including debris and dumpsters weighing up to 125 pounds. Experience in residential or apartment settings is essential, as is the ability to operate tools such as pressure washers for exterior cleaning tasks. Candidates must be flexible to work some weekends and extended hours as needed.
Joining HRIM means more than just taking a job—it means becoming part of a team that values your contributions and promotes a balanced lifestyle. With comprehensive health coverage that includes medical, dental, and vision plans, competitive pay, generous paid time off and holidays, and opportunities for career growth through training and tuition assistance, HRIM supports their employees' professional development and personal well-being. An engaging team culture with wellness programs, employee discounts, and social events rounds out the benefits, making this position an inviting opportunity for those seeking stability and fulfillment in their careers.
