As a Porter at Belmont Village Senior Living, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of both the interior and exterior common areas of the community. This position requires a proactive and reliable individual who takes pride in their work and consistently meets company standards regarding the appearance and upkeep of the community's parking areas and main entrances. The role is multifaceted, involving responsibilities ranging from general cleaning duties to ensuring that the environment fosters a welcoming and secure atmosphere for residents, guests, and staff alike. The Porter will be responsible for ensuring that all common areas, including restrooms and laundry facilities, are adequately supplied and maintained according to Belmont Village’s rigorous cleanliness standards. Attention to detail is essential, as the role involves routine inspection and cleaning duties, waste disposal, and maintaining supplies. Additionally, the Porter serves as a key community safety ambassador by conducting hourly rounds to verify that all exterior doors and entry points remain secure. This includes the use of sound judgment when engaging with visitors during off-hours and promptly reporting any unusual or suspicious occurrences to the designated Manager on Duty.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a housekeeper, janitor or porter
- Ability to organize and prioritize work independently and efficiently
- Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
- Ability to work early morning, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
- Professional, pleasant and team oriented attitude
- Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community
- All offers of employment are conditional based on the successful completion of a state and federal criminal background check, drug screen, job related physical and TB test

Job Duties
- Perform cleaning of the community common areas to ensure compliance with Belmont Village cleanliness standards
- Ensure common area restrooms and laundry rooms are adequately supplied with toilet paper, hand towels, hand soap, laundry detergent, and other items as necessary
- Pick up and properly dispose of exterior trash, remove waste, replace trash can liners
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with residents and guests
- Use sound judgement when responding to visitors arriving after stated visiting hours
- Make hourly rounds to confirm the community’s exterior doors, and other points of entry into the community are locked
- Report unusual occurrences, suspicious situations or persons to the Manager on Duty and take appropriate action as deemed necessary by community protocol
- Make hospitality, customer service, and resident satisfaction your top priorities in every interaction
