The Porter position at The Summit at Point Loma is a vital role dedicated to maintaining the pristine condition and curb appeal of the property, ensuring that all residents and visitors experience a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $20 to $22 per hour and follows a Tuesday through Saturday schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM. The role requires a dependable individual skilled in property upkeep that helps maximize the property's marketing appeal while supporting the seamless operation of community amenities and facilities.
Porters will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the grounds, building exteriors, leasing office, tour paths, parking lots, and common areas. This includes trash removal, pressure washing, assistance in preparing units for market readiness, and responding effectively to property emergencies such as snow removal or inclement weather conditions. The role demands a proactive team member who is attentive to detail and dedicated to fostering positive relationships with residents and colleagues alike.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Ability to use general office equipment
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to cope with and defuse situations involving angry or difficult people
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Must maintain professional appearance and comply with prescribed uniform policy
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and current auto insurance
- Must comply with all safety requirements
- Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment
- Ability to shovel snow, apply ice melt and operate a commercial snow blower
- Passionate for meticulous curb appeal

Job Duties
- Remove trash and other debris from office areas and property perimeter on a daily basis
- Assist in the preparation of market ready units
- Pressure wash exterior buildings, sidewalks, etc.
- Assist with property emergencies such as snow removal and/or other inclement weather emergencies, fires, and floods
- Clean available apartments and/or model homes and common areas of the community, as directed
- Address property maintenance concerns related to inclement weather conditions
- Promote customer satisfaction by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and curb appeal, and interact courteously and professionally with current and potential residents always
- Preserve and respect applicant and resident confidentiality
- Foster a positive, active and collaborative relationship with residents, other properties and associated agencies
- Clearly and immediately report any maintenance and/or life safety issues identified while performing regular assigned duties
