As part of The Boyd Group, one of North America's largest auto body repair and glass companies, Gerber Collision & Glass exemplifies a commitment to excellence, integrity, and customer satisfaction. The company prides itself on its supportive work environment, robust infrastructure, and dedication to fostering employee growth. They focus on creating teams that are not only skilled but are also motivated and inspired to outperform at every touchpoint in collision and glass services. By continuously investing in resources and development opportunities, Gerber Collision & Glass ensures their employees can advance their careers in a dynamic and rewarding setting.

The role of Porter at Gerber Collision & Glass is essential to maintaining the high standards of quality repairs that the company is known for. This position supports the overall customer experience by ensuring that customer vehicles are impeccably cleaned prior to delivery, both inside and out. Beyond vehicle cleaning, the Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the shop and office facilities, which contributes significantly to the company's WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan. This plan is instrumental in maintaining operational excellence and fostering a positive workplace culture.

The Porter’s duties extend beyond the interior and exterior cleaning of vehicles. They also oversee the daily housekeeping of the office spaces, including emptying garbage cans, cleaning floors, dusting surfaces, and organizing work areas. Moreover, in the production area of the shop, the Porter manages the disposal of waste, sweeping, and proper storage of tools and equipment. Groundskeeping responsibilities such as maintaining parking lots and sidewalks to ensure safety and cleanliness are also part of this crucial role.

Handling vehicles is a core part of the Porter position, which includes pre-washing customer vehicles before repairs commence and completing a detailed cleanup after repairs conclude. The role also involves transporting vehicles to sublet locations to facilitate additional repairs if necessary. This position is ideal for individuals with a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a genuine desire to serve customers with a positive attitude.

The employment type is part-time or full-time with compensation ranging from $16.00 to $18.00 per hour depending on experience. Gerber Collision & Glass welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds and is committed to inclusive hiring practices that ensure equal opportunities for all individuals, including disabled persons and protected veterans. This role offers a meaningful pathway for those looking to grow within the collision repair industry while contributing to a team environment built on trust and excellence.
