The Porter role at Gerber Collision & Glass is an integral position within the service operations, responsible for complementing quality repair work by ensuring customer vehicles are clean and presentable before delivery. This role also involves maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of both the shop and office facilities, which is essential to sustaining the company’s reputation for high standards and customer satisfaction. The position is hourly, offering a competitive wage ranging from $14 to $20 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This role requires attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, the Porter is responsible for transporting customer vehicles to sublet locations when necessary, pre-washing vehicles prior to repair work, and performing daily housekeeping duties such as sweeping floors, emptying garbage cans, and organizing tools and equipment.

Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
  • Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area
  • Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location
  • Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
  • Pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning
  • Exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
  • Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
