Job Description

Gerber Collision & Glass is a leading provider in the automotive collision repair industry, with a rich history spanning over 80 years. The company prides itself on delivering high-quality collision and glass repair services, maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction that is second to none. As part of The Boyd Group family, Gerber Collision & Glass benefits from the backing and resources of one of the largest and most respected automotive repair groups in North America. The organization is committed to building strong, cohesive teams that excel through intentional collaboration and support. Their commitment to diversity and inclusion is evident in their hiring practices, welcoming unique talents from all backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities and Protected Veterans. This inclusive culture fosters a dynamic workplace where employees can thrive and contribute to the company’s continued growth and industry leadership.

Gerber Collision & Glass is currently seeking a Porter to join their team. This role is pivotal in complementing the quality automotive repairs the company is known for by ensuring that customer vehicles are cleaned and prepared to the highest standards prior to delivery. The Porter will maintain cleanliness and orderliness within both the shop and office facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both employees and customers. This entry-level position is hourly paid, with wages ranging from $11.90 to $17.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, skill, and education. It presents an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or grow their career in the automotive industry.

The position demands attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to multitask effectively. Key responsibilities include pre-washing vehicles before repair work begins, cleaning vehicles inside and out after repairs are complete, and maintaining the cleanliness of the production area, office, and surrounding grounds. The Porter may also transport vehicles to sublet locations as needed. Beyond vehicle care, the role involves maintaining the facility by emptying garbage, sweeping floors, dusting, and keeping tools and equipment in their proper places. Physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and other activities related to the safe operation within a repair shop are integral to the job.

Gerber Collision & Glass is committed to employee wellbeing, offering comprehensive benefits from day one. These include medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off; parental leave; paid holidays; retirement plans with company match; and continuing education opportunities, to name a few. The company values positive attitudes, reliability, trustworthiness, and a customer-first mindset in all team members, ensuring a supportive and empowering work environment that nurtures personal and professional growth.
