Gerber Collision & Glass is currently seeking a Porter to join their team. This role is pivotal in complementing the quality automotive repairs the company is known for by ensuring that customer vehicles are cleaned and prepared to the highest standards prior to delivery. The Porter will maintain cleanliness and orderliness within both the shop and office facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both employees and customers. This entry-level position is hourly paid, with wages ranging from $11.90 to $17.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, skill, and education. The position demands attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to multitask effectively. Key responsibilities include pre-washing vehicles before repair work begins, cleaning vehicles inside and out after repairs are complete, and maintaining the cleanliness of the production area, office, and surrounding grounds. The Porter may also transport vehicles to sublet locations as needed. Beyond vehicle care, the role involves maintaining the facility by emptying garbage, sweeping floors, dusting, and keeping tools and equipment in their proper places. Physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and other activities related to the safe operation within a repair shop are integral to the job.
