Job Description
SpaceX, founded with the vision of a future where humanity explores and inhabits the stars, is a cutting-edge aerospace manufacturer and space transportation company. The company is renowned for its ambitious pursuit to enable human life on Mars and revolutionize space technology. With a trailblazing approach, SpaceX has achieved numerous milestones including the development of reusable rockets and the successful deployment of numerous missions to space.
As part of its innovative portfolio, SpaceX is also the driving force behind Starlink, the world's most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink operates the largest satellite constellation globally, providing fast and reliable internet service to over 10 million users worldwide. This expansion of internet connectivity is especially transformative for remote areas with limited access to reliable networks. The design, manufacturing, testing, and operation of the entire Starlink system—from satellites to consumer antennas and integrated software—take place at SpaceX facilities like its Redmond Campus.
Currently, SpaceX is hiring for the position of Porter at its Redmond Campus. The Porter will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient environment within the private restaurant and throughout the campus. This role involves interacting professionally and courteously with employees and management, helping to deliver a high-quality food service experience. Tasks include restocking supplies, staging for takeaway options, and assisting kitchen management with various duties. The position demands attention to sanitation standards, food safety practices, and operational procedures in food handling and storage.
The Porter role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic space technology company contributing indirectly to the success of groundbreaking missions and services like Starlink. This is a second shift role based Monday to Friday from 11 AM to 9:30 PM, with a competitive pay range starting at $22.00 per hour and potentially increasing to $24.00 per hour based on experience and skills. This hourly rate reflects the company's commitment to fair compensation aligned with job knowledge and responsibilities.
Beyond the hourly wage, SpaceX provides a comprehensive total rewards package that includes long-term incentive programs such as company stock awards, discretionary bonuses, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan which allows employees to buy additional stock at a discount. Benefits extend to comprehensive health coverage, including medical, vision, and dental plans. There is also access to a 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, short and long-term disability insurance, paid parental leave, and paid vacation time accumulating to three weeks annually with additional paid holidays. Employees can also benefit from company shuttles for convenient transportation to and from the Redmond office.
SpaceX's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is reflected in its equal employment opportunity policy. The company fosters a workplace environment free from discrimination based on any protected status and encourages applications from all qualified candidates. Additionally, there is a strong emphasis on compliance with ITAR regulations requiring eligibility for U.S. government export authorizations for certain positions.
In sum, the Porter position at SpaceX is ideal for individuals with experience in restaurant or warehouse environments who are motivated to contribute to a vibrant team and support the operational excellence of a leading aerospace and internet services company. The role offers career growth potential in a stimulating, forward-thinking atmosphere dedicated to making a cosmic impact.
