Job Description
Asset Living is a respected third-party management firm renowned for fostering thriving communities across the United States. Established in 1986, the company has grown steadily from its beginnings as a modest property management firm into a trusted partner in real estate management. Asset Living manages an expansive and diverse portfolio that includes multifamily residential properties, single-family home rentals, affordable housing, build-to-rent communities, active adult living, and student housing. This broad spectrum allows the company to serve a variety of market segments with expertise and dedication.
With decades of experience under its belt, Asset Living prioritizes delivering exceptional value to its partners by combining deep industry knowledge with innovative management practices. The company’s workforce is composed of talented individuals from diverse backgrounds who contribute to a dynamic, innovative, and results-driven culture. Asset Living emphasizes collaboration, continuous improvement, and leadership at all levels. Employees are encouraged to share ideas, lead by example, and grow professionally while working together to meet and exceed company goals. The corporate philosophy “Together We Lead, Together We Succeed” embodies the company's commitment to teamwork and shared success.
Asset Living is highly regarded in the industry, recognized as one of the nation’s Best and Brightest Places to Work and consistently ranked in the National Multifamily Housing Council’s Top 50 Professionals list. The company holds membership in The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and maintains Accredited Management Organization (AMO) status, underscoring its commitment to excellence and professional standards.
The open position is for a Porter, a crucial role responsible for supporting the maintenance operations across the company’s managed properties. The Porter plays an essential part in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and operational integrity of the property by performing corrective, preventive, routine, and cosmetic maintenance tasks. This position operates under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager, contributing directly to the readiness and upkeep of the community.
Porters are essential team members who ensure grounds and buildings are maintained to high standards, prioritize safety, and enhance the living experience for residents. Daily attendance on-site is required to manage tasks such as cleaning, trash removal, and maintaining the appearance and safety of community common areas—both indoors and outdoors. The role also involves responding promptly to resident and management work orders, inspecting and reporting hazards, and supporting the preventative maintenance program designed to extend the lifecycle of community assets.
The role demands adherence to company policies, OSHA safety standards, and proper use of maintenance tools and equipment. Porters assist in unit inspections, help maintain an organized maintenance environment, enforce community rules, and contribute to superior resident relations through excellent customer service. This is a physically demanding job that requires navigating varied terrains, lifting heavy objects, and working in diverse weather conditions.
Asset Living offers a comprehensive compensation package for the Porter role, paying an hourly wage of $19. The company considers factors such as skill set, training, and certifications to tailor compensation offers. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, accidental, and disability insurance; a 401(k) plan with employer matching; commission and performance bonuses, when applicable; and paid sick days and company holidays for full-time employees.
This position not only demands responsibility and diligence but also offers the opportunity to be part of an industry-leading company that values employee development, diversity, and teamwork. By joining Asset Living as a Porter, candidates become integral members of a company committed to excellence in property management and outstanding community living experiences.
