This full-time role as a Porter at GSC Wholesale LLC involves contributing to the cleanliness and overall maintenance of the company’s distribution centers and office spaces to ensure a safe, tidy, and efficient work environment. Employed primarily on the 1st shift, which runs Sunday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. until completion, this position offers an hourly wage of 16 dollars plus an additional 1.50 dollars for cooler freezer pay, recognizing the demands of working in refrigerated and frozen environments. The Porter plays a vital role in preserving the high standards of housekeeping within the warehouse by performing janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing, and waxing floors. Beyond routine cleaning, Porters are instrumental in maintaining workplace safety by tending to spills of various substances including damaged product, oil, and grease to prevent accidents. This role may also require using material handling equipment safely, occasionally lifting products that vary in size and weight, and moving items out of pick slots for more thorough cleaning. The physical nature of the job requires standing, bending, lifting, and pivoting for up to 90 percent of the shift, as well as walking on various surfaces. The position might also involve working at different heights, handling sharp tools safely, and performing heavy lifting of products weighing between 1 to 60 pounds or more.
