Job Description

DMSD Cajun Eats, LLC, operating under the well-known brand Popeye's, is a leading quick-service restaurant chain specializing in delivering high-quality Cajun-inspired fried chicken and other Southern flavors. Founded with a commitment to providing customers with exceptional taste, fast service, and a memorable dining experience, Popeye's has grown to become a highly respected name in the fast-food industry. Known for its vibrant culture, strong brand identity, and dedication to both customer satisfaction and employee development, Popeye's operates numerous units across various regions, each upholding the company’s service standards and brand promise. As a franchise of this prominent and fast-growing chain, DMSD Cajun Eats is committed to maintaining the legacy and excellence that customers have come to expect while fostering a supportive work environment for its employees.

The role of the Popeye's Unit Manager is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an individual restaurant unit. This role demands a dynamic leader who can use discretion in management decisions and is accountable for managing the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and ensuring the delivery of the brand promise at every level of operation. The Unit Manager plays a critical role in franchise success, balancing operational efficiency, excellence in customer service, and profitability. Responsibilities include recruiting, training, and developing the restaurant team; fostering a positive and employee-friendly workplace; and ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

The Unit Manager leads the team to provide excellent internal service by managing staffing, training employees on various workstations, and encouraging professional growth within the restaurant. This leadership approach promotes high employee morale, retention, and the cultivation of future managers. On the external service front, the manager ensures every guest receives exceptional service and food quality, consistently adhering to Popeye’s operational and food safety guidelines. They actively monitor guest satisfaction, address complaints promptly, and adjust operations to enhance the customer experience continuously.

Financial acumen is essential for this role, as the Unit Manager is tasked with analyzing operational and financial reports, identifying performance trends, and using this data to implement effective strategies that maximize sales and profitability. They must carefully manage costs, adhere to budgets, and maintain a strong focus on protecting the brand's image and financial health. This position also requires a deep understanding of and commitment to the company culture, ethics, and values, fostering a work environment based on respect, integrity, and professionalism.

Additional competencies include the ability to manage ambiguity and change effectively, problem-solve with rigorous logic, and demonstrate strong composure under pressure. The manager must have excellent communication skills, capable of providing constructive feedback and motivating the team to achieve performance goals. Physical demands require the manager to be active in the restaurant environment, capable of lifting, walking, and operating equipment, alongside handling administrative tasks and external business trips.

This position typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for candidates possessing an associate's or bachelor's degree. Candidates must have prior experience in management, preferably within a service-oriented environment, and be fully certified in all relevant workstations. They must also complete restaurant manager training and obtain ServSafe certification. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.

In summary, the Popeye's Unit Manager is an essential leader charged with delivering the highest standards in operational performance, customer service, employee development, and financial management.
