The company cultivates a vibrant and inclusive workplace culture where employees are encouraged to grow, innovate, and excel in delivering exceptional dining experiences.
The Restaurant General Manager at Popeye's plays a pivotal role in managing the overall operations of an individual unit. This leadership position demands a strategic and hands-on approach to daily management with accountability for ensuring the effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and brand promise. This role emphasizes balancing both people and business management by fostering a positive, employee-friendly environment alongside rigorous operational control. Key responsibilities include recruiting, selecting, training, and developing restaurant employees, ensuring sufficient staffing levels, and nurturing internal candidates for advancement. The General Manager works collaboratively with the restaurant team to create an engaging workplace characterized by respect, fun, cleanliness, and safety.
Externally, the manager oversees daily activities to achieve operational excellence, focusing on guest satisfaction through consistent delivery of excellent service and food quality. They actively interact with guests, address concerns professionally, and uphold the high standards synonymous with the Popeye's brand. Utilizing management information tools, the General Manager analyzes operational and financial performance, identifies trends, and implements corrective action plans to optimize sales and profitability. Financial stewardship involves monitoring costs in line with budgets and protecting brand integrity through thoughtful decision-making.
Additionally, the position demands a commitment to fostering a strong corporate culture marked by integrity, honesty, and ethical behavior. The ability to manage stress, resolve conflicts, and communicate effectively with all levels of staff is critical. The General Manager also champions employee motivation, coaching, and career development to build a cohesive team aligned with corporate goals.
This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent as a minimum education qualification, with preference given to candidates possessing an associate's or bachelor's degree. Experience requirements vary depending on internal promotion or external recruitment, with a focus on prior management of service concepts, full P&L responsibility, and certification in Popeye’s operational workstations. Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks such as standing, lifting, and driving are essential to meet the demands of the role.
