The role of a Server at The Boulevard is centered around delivering excellent customer service with a positive attitude and efficiency. Servers at our venue are expected to engage actively with guests, starting from greeting them in various seating areas such as fire tables, Adirondack chairs, and the poolside, ensuring they have access to the full menu and feel comfortable throughout their visit. The position involves not only taking and delivering orders but also offering knowledgeable recommendations to enhance the guest’s dining experience. You will be responsible for upselling menu items, suggesting desserts, and ensuring all aspects of a guest’s meal are seamlessly managed, from the initial order to the final check. Additionally, servers play a key role in maintaining cleanliness and readiness of the service area, including bussing tables, restocking supplies, and adhering to food and beverage control guidelines.
This role demands strong communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to perform under pressure while maintaining composure. Knowledge of menu items, including daily specials and plating procedures, is essential to provide accurate and appealing descriptions of the food and beverages to guests. The Boulevard Server must also be familiar with procedures such as the use of pre-check machines, portion control, and liquor control, aligning with industry standards like TIPs training. The role is dynamic and requires teamwork and participation in regular staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on company marketing programs and service protocols. We prefer candidates with previous server experience and require all applicants to be of legal age to serve alcohol. Job Duties
- greet guests at fire tables adirondack chairs and pool area chairs and ensure each guest has a boulevard menu
- offer sell and obtain cocktail orders from guests
- obtain the meal order and give to kitchen staff for preparation
- serve the food once prepared and ensure guests have everything they need
- return to the boulevard periodically to see if additional items are desired
- suggest a dessert when the guests have completed their meal
- deliver the check after completion of the meal or dessert
- remove dirty dishes and silverware and place them in respective trays
- prepare tables for service by bussing and wiping clean
- know menu menu prices composition of food and beverage menu items familiarity with all daily specials and proper plating procedures
- up-sell and suggestively sell food and beverages by describing each item in an appealing way to increase check average
- refill all condiments and server station supplies at the end of each shift
- maintain food and beverage control including pre-check machine portion control liquor control following guidelines and practices outlined in tips training
- attend regular staff and training meetings
- perform opening and closing work as requested
- maintain knowledge of current in-house and company marketing programs
- prepare and deliver room service or take-out orders as requested
