The Pool Server/Attendant role is a critical position focused on delivering exceptional and personalized service to guests in the pool area. This role demands a high level of attentiveness and a commitment to creating a seamless and luxurious dining experience. The Pool Server/Attendant is responsible for greeting guests with warmth and professionalism, skillfully managing food and beverage orders, and maintaining the highest standards of presentation and service execution.

In this role, the Pool Server/Attendant will monitor guest needs proactively, offer recommendations, and ensure guests’ comfort through attentive service such as providing towels, sunscreen, and other amenities. The position requires collaboration with various departments to guarantee smooth operations and to foster a guest journey that reflects the hotel’s luxury brand values. Responsibilities also include maintaining poolside safety regulations, upholding cleanliness, and managing orders efficiently using the hotel’s point of sale (POS) system.

Ideal candidates for this role bring at least two years of relevant experience in luxury hotel service environments, with a strong understanding of international fine dining and beverage service standards. A background in hospitality management is preferred, although equivalent experience is also considered valuable. The position is full-time and requires flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and sometimes overnight hours.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years work experience in a similar capacity with an understanding of luxury hotel standards of service
  • College degree in hospitality management preferred or equivalent experience
  • Full-time position
  • Ability to work flexible hours including days evenings overnights weekends and holidays
  • Fluent in English other languages considered an asset
  • Passionate for food and beverage with demonstrated understanding of international fine dining wine beverage and service standards
  • Must be able to reach bend balance and transport various objects weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly during a shift
  • Frequent heat exposure standing talking walking grasping using hearing acuity seeing near using depth perception stooping doing repetitive motions bending speaking clearly and hearing conversation
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis at the time of application

Job Duties

  • Greet guests warmly and professionally as they enter the pool area
  • Provide suggestions based on menu knowledge
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests lounging by the pool ensuring accuracy and attention to special requests
  • Deliver orders promptly to poolside or cabana areas with high standards of presentation
  • Monitor guest needs and proactively offer refills additional services or special promotions
  • Provide information about the menu pool rules and ongoing promotions or events at the pool
  • Upsell menu items such as high-margin drinks food specials or bottled water
  • Process guest orders through the POS system ensuring accurate billing and special requests noted
  • Collaborate with pool servers bartenders kitchen hoteliers and other departments to ensure smooth efficient service
  • Respond to guest feedback and resolve any issues or complaints professionally and calmly
