Currently, Pier Sixty-Six Resort is seeking a seasoned Pool Server to join their hospitality team. This role is integral to crafting authentic, distinctive guest experiences by providing attentive and personalized food and beverage service in the poolside environment. The Pool Server will ensure that each guest feels welcomed, valued, and appreciated through prompt order taking, efficient service delivery, and checking guest satisfaction throughout their visit. Job Requirements
- Must be of legal drinking age
- valid TIPS certification
- valid Food Handler certification
- prior experience in food and beverage service preferred
- ability to work outdoors for prolonged periods
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- ability to work collaboratively in a team
- willingness to assist other departments during adverse weather conditions
Job Qualifications
- Must meet the legal age requirement to serve alcohol
- previous experience providing food and beverage service preferred
- TIPS certification required
- Food Handler certification required
- familiarity with restaurant terminology and food service techniques preferred
- excellent communication skills in English verbally and in writing
- ability to work outdoors for extended periods
- ability to assist other departments during inclement weather
- people-oriented and friendly demeanor
Job Duties
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests outlined by Pier Sixty-Six and five-star standards
- understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction
- communicate guest feedback to the Manager
- set up pool stations and perform side work daily
- maintain cleanliness and condition of all glasses, dishes, and utensils
- keep the pool area clear of used items and maintain cleanliness of the pool deck
- follow all cash handling and credit card policies relating to InfoGenesis
- practice safe work habits to avoid injury
- answer questions and guide guests through the menu
- serve food courses and alcoholic beverages promptly
- record transactions in the InfoGenesis system at the time of order
- communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions and meal requirements
- check in with guests to ensure satisfaction
- complete closing duties including restocking and requisitions
- present accurate checks and process payments
- ensure professional appearance and uniform cleanliness
- run food and bus tables when possible
- anticipate and address guests' service needs
- communicate clearly with team members and guests
- maintain positive working relationships
- ensure quality expectations and standards adherence
- handle objects weighing up to 10 pounds
- thank guests with genuine appreciation
- perform other job duties as requested
- extend courteous salutations to departing guests
- maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies and standards
- monitor guest activity and ensure safety and enforcement of pool rules
- secure storage areas
- maintain knowledge of house counts, VIPs, arrivals, departures, scheduled activities, hotel facilities, and operating hours
- comply with all safety and sanitation regulations for the pool facility
