Job Description

The City of Yuma, Arizona, is a vibrant municipal government dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for its residents through various public services and recreational opportunities. Among its many commitments is the provision and management of safe, enjoyable aquatic facilities that serve the community year-round. The City of Yuma operates multiple swimming pools designed to offer safe recreational swimming, competitive aquatic activities, and educational swim programs for individuals of all ages. These municipal pools provide essential public resources that promote water safety, community engagement, fitness, and social interaction. The municipal aquatic facilities uphold rigorous standards in safety protocols, water quality control, and customer service to ensure patrons have a positive experience. With a strong emphasis on public safety, the City is committed to employing skilled professionals who can manage pool operations effectively while fostering a fun and secure aquatic environment for all users.

The role of the Municipal Pool Supervisor is crucial to the City's mission of maintaining high standards in aquatic recreation. This role demands meticulous attention to safety protocols, including the oversight of emergency responses such as water rescues and first aid administration. The supervisor also handles financial transactions, reconciles cash drawers, and maintains accurate bookkeeping and reporting documentation. Handling patron inquiries, resolving complaints, and writing accident and incident reports are part of daily duties, requiring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain professional composure.

The position requires proactive management of the facility environment, including regular inspection for cleanliness, safe operation of equipment, and proper chemical balance of pool water, with an understanding of water chemistry principles. The supervisor must ensure compliance with all City policies and state regulations governing municipal aquatic facilities. In addition to operational tasks, the supervisor supports public relations initiatives by promoting courteous interactions between staff, patrons, and the community. This opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about aquatic safety and community recreation who possess strong leadership, organizational, and emergency response skills.

Employment with the City of Yuma offers a supportive workplace environment, competitive compensation, and opportunities for professional development within public sector recreation services.
