The Bartender role at Four Seasons is an integral position responsible for preparing and serving a curated selection of wines, spirits, and crafted cocktails. This role requires a high level of expertise in mixology, a thorough understanding of the beverages offered, and the ability to engage with guests to enhance their experience. The Bartender ensures that each drink is prepared according to precise recipes and standards, maintaining the quality expected at a luxury hotel. Interaction with guests includes offering vivid descriptions of beverages, suggesting drinks based on preferences, and promptly addressing any concerns to ensure complete satisfaction.
In this role, you will use the hotel’s point-of-sale system to confirm and accurately process guest orders, including handling payments and closing checks efficiently. The Bartender collaborates closely with other departments to provide seamless service, demonstrating excellent communication skills and teamwork. This position demands strong time management abilities to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, with an emphasis on personal presentation and professionalism.
Candidates for this position should have at least two years of high-volume bartending experience, ideally within a luxury hotel or resort setting. Extensive knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits is essential, along with the skill to upsell and provide excellent guest service. Proficiency with computer systems such as Opera and Micros POS is preferred. The ability to lift up to 30 pounds is also required. Job Duties
- Prepare and serve a selection of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks from the menu while ensuring proper pouring, mixing, and blending according to recipes
- confirm guest orders including any special needs or requests from the server using the hotel’s point-of-sales system
- check completed orders with guest’s original order
- service and take orders from guests seated at the bar area offering interesting and vivid descriptions of each item’s origin, taste, and preparation methods
- maintain a working knowledge of liquors, wines, beers, ports, Armagnacs, eau de vies, cognacs and specialty drinks
- anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions
- respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests
- properly and accurately close guest checks
- process cash and credit card payments
- properly settle voided checks or complimentary items
