This position is a full-time, non-management role based at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami, offering an opportunity to be part of a dynamic and supportive team focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences. The role involves completing opening and closing duties such as setting up supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and work areas, locking doors, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and readiness of the bar and dining areas. Employees will be responsible for stocking supplies like ice, glassware, and paper products, as well as preparing drink orders according to specific recipes and handling wine and champagne service.

The successful candidate will also manage payment processing, secure cash banks, and ensure all supplies and liquor storage areas are properly maintained and locked. Safety and security compliance is critical, including reporting any accidents or unsafe conditions and completing necessary safety trainings. The role requires interaction with guests by welcoming them warmly and anticipating their service needs, maintaining professional communication, and fostering positive working relationships with colleagues. Physical activity is part of the job, such as moving and lifting objects, reaching overhead and below the knees, and standing or walking for extended periods.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in hospitality or bar service preferred
  • Ability to work full-time hours
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Capability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Willingness to complete safety training and certifications
  • Maintain professional and clean personal appearance

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Complete opening and closing duties including setting up supplies and tools
  • Clean all equipment and areas
  • Lock doors after closing
  • Set up, stock, and maintain work areas including ice, glassware, and paper supplies
  • Prepare drink orders according to specified recipes using measuring systems
  • Issue, open, and serve wine and champagne bottles
  • Remove soiled wares from bar top and tables
  • Maintain cleanliness and condition of bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools
  • Prepare fresh garnishes for drinks
  • Transport supplies to bar set-up area
  • Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs
  • Process all payment methods
  • Count banks at end of shift and complete cashier reports
  • Resolve any discrepancies and secure bank
  • Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas
  • Follow company and safety policies and report incidents
  • Welcome and acknowledge guests and anticipate their needs
  • Maintain professional communication and positive team relationships
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 25 pounds
  • Stand or walk for extended periods
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested
