The role of Bartender at The Carolina Country Club is vital in maintaining this exceptional standard of service, particularly at the pool bar. The successful candidate will be responsible for the set-up, maintenance, and operation of the pool bar, providing platinum-level service to enhance the member and guest experience. This position demands a dynamic individual who embodies the club's Platinum Service Absolutes and strives to create a welcoming atmosphere. The Bartender is expected to greet members and guests warmly, provide detailed menu information, promote specials, and ensure orders are executed promptly and accurately. Utilizing the point of service (POS) system efficiently will be a key aspect of the role, along with tracking consumption and adhering to local and state alcohol service laws.
Working proactively, the Bartender will monitor patron consumption limits and notify management if any issues arise, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all guests. Hygiene, grooming standards, and safety protocols are integral to this role, as is cooperation with the Beverage Manager and other team members to maintain smooth beverage operations. Daily responsibilities also include managing bar glassware and bottles, restocking supplies with proper rotation, and maintaining organized storage areas such as the beer cooler and wine cellar.
This position requires attention to detail during monthly inventories and the development of standardized product lists and ingredient menus distributed to bar personnel. The Bartender will embody professionalism in appearance and behavior, be alert to safety concerns, and promptly report any accidents, maintenance issues, or suspicious activities. Other duties include completing required training courses, performing side work duties such as opening and closing tasks, and assisting with any additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Physical demands are an important consideration for this role. The Bartender must be at least 21 years old, capable of standing for long shifts on tile floors, lifting weights up to 25 pounds, and maneuvering safely throughout the work area. Good English language skills for communication, along with dexterity to operate bar equipment and respond to emergencies, are essential. The position involves exposure to cleaning chemicals and requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Job Requirements
- Must be a minimum of twenty one (21) years of age
- capable of lifting up to twenty five (25) pounds or more
- capable of standing and maneuvering independently and safely around work area
- capable of standing on a tile floor for an eight hour shift
- ability to see and hear or to use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately
- sufficient manual dexterity to operate a fire extinguisher and manipulate bar and kitchen equipment including blenders mixers ice machines dishwashers slicers and knives
- ability to read write speak and understand English
- sound mental and physical health
- ability to get along well with others and demonstrate sensitivity and interest in people
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as bartender or similar role
- strong knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- knowledge of local alcohol laws and safety regulations
- high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to use POS systems proficiently
Job Duties
- Greet members and their guests and provide them with menu information at the pool bar promotes specials ensuring all are served according to operating standards
- rings up using point of service (POS) and accurately manage chits
- track consumption usage and be proactive when a patron is over limit to contact management immediately
- adhere to basic hygiene procedures and grooming standards
- arrange bar glassware and bottles
- assist Beverage Manager with any and all tasks related to beverage operations
- assure that state and local laws club policies and procedures are being followed for service of alcoholic beverages
