Job Description

The Recreation Attendant warmly welcomes guests, orients them with the available amenities, and assists with pool equipment like lounge chairs, umbrellas, cabanas, and daybeds to exceed guest satisfaction. The role also involves maintaining cleanliness and proper stocking of the pool area and related equipment according to departmental standards. Additional responsibilities include acting as a food runner to assist servers in delivering food to pool guests and ensuring order presentation and accuracy. The Recreation Attendant plays a critical role in upholding safety and hygiene standards by wearing appropriate protective footwear, reporting potential safety hazards or maintenance issues, and complying with OSHA policies including proper use of personal protective equipment. \n\nThe ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, discretion with confidential information, and a commitment to exceptional guest service. The job requires physical stamina, including standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and moving heavy objects, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions. The position may also require flexible scheduling, including holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts, to meet the operational needs of the resort. Job Qualifications

  • No formal education required
  • prior related experience in a pool environment preferred
  • ability to serve the needs of members and guests using phone, computer, and face-to-face interactions
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • ability to read, speak, and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
  • commitment to training and continuing education
  • ability to work varying schedules including holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts
  • maintains a clean appearance and follows grooming standards

Job Duties

  • Warmly greets and welcomes members and guests upon arrival
  • assists guests with use of recreation equipment such as lounge chairs, umbrellas, daybeds, cabanas, and all other pool equipment
  • maintains cleanliness of recreation areas and equipment including pools and lounge chairs
  • delivers food to guests and assists pool servers
  • maintains linen closet in a clean and orderly manner
  • immediately reports any noted repairs or maintenance needs
  • resolves guest complaints within scope of authority or refers them to management
  • wears non-slip, oil-resistant shoes and follows all safety policies and procedures
  • reports to work as scheduled on time and regularly
