Job Description
Flanigan's is a renowned restaurant known for its vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, making it a popular destination for friends and family seeking enjoyable dining experiences. With a reputation for excellent customer service and quality food, Flanigan's prides itself on creating memorable moments for every guest that walks through its doors. The establishment emphasizes a friendly and hospitable environment, blending comfort with professionalism to ensure that each visit is unique and satisfying. By fostering a team culture centered around positive interactions and community spirit, Flanigan's stands out in the hospitality industry as a place where guests can relax, enjoy great food, and feel genuinely valued.
In the role of a Host/Hostess at Flanigan's, you become a pivotal part of the guest experience starting from the moment they enter. This position is more than just greeting guests; it's about setting the tone for their entire visit through warm, attentive, and courteous service. As the first smiling face guests see, you create a welcoming environment that mirrors the overall hospitality of the restaurant. Your responsibilities include managing guest seating efficiently by handling the wait list and escorting guests promptly to their tables while engaging them with friendly conversation known as Flanigan's "Smile Talk." This communication is designed to make guests feel comfortable and appreciated, enhancing their overall dining experience.
Additionally, the role involves maintaining cleanliness and organization in various areas such as the foyer, host station, wait area, and restrooms. These tasks are essential in upholding the restaurant's high standards of hygiene and creating a pleasant environment for everyone. Communication skills are also crucial, as you will answer telephones promptly, address guest inquiries, and relay any concerns to the manager on duty to ensure swift resolution. At the end of each visit, you will leave guests with a positive impression through a warm farewell, continuing the signature Flanigan's hospitality.
This role demands physical stamina, including the ability to reach, bend, stoop frequently, and lift up to 50 pounds. It also requires that candidates complete specific certifications such as the Florida Responsible Vendor program and food safety training to comply with state regulations and Flanigan's standards. The employment offers a structured work schedule with a five-day workweek and includes benefits such as paid vacation, health insurance options including medical and dental coverage, a 401K plan with immediate eligibility for employees aged 21 and over, and discounted shift meals. Joining Flanigan's as a Host/Hostess provides an opportunity to develop customer service skills, work in a dynamic team, and contribute to a well-respected establishment that values its employees and guests equally.
