The Steward/Dishwasher role at Hilton is vital in maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of hotel kitchens and dining areas. This position is more than just cleaning duties – it serves as a cornerstone in delivering a seamless and delightful guest experience. Stewards/Dishwashers are responsible for keeping serviceware spotless by cleaning chinaware, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, and pans, ensuring that all kitchen tools meet the highest sanitation standards. Additionally, they monitor and manage stock levels to guarantee that supplies and equipment are well-stocked and organized, which supports the team’s ability to provide seamless service. Maintaining kitchen cleanliness by performing essential cleaning tasks such as mopping and trash removal is a critical component of the job, ensuring safety and hygiene.
Stewards/Dishwashers also play an important role in banquet and event support by preparing and setting up clean serviceware, contributing to the smooth execution of functions. They mentor and train new team members, sharing their expertise to enhance overall team performance. Compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations is strictly maintained, prioritizing the well-being of guests and team members alike.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment preferred
- Ability to perform physical cleaning tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a similar hospitality or kitchen steward role is an advantage
- Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service
- Basic training or certification in food safety and alcohol awareness is desirable
Job Duties
- Keep serviceware spotless by cleaning all chinaware, silverware, and cooking utensils, scrub pots and pans, and burnish silver
- Monitor stock levels to ensure supplies and equipment are always well stocked and organized for seamless service
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness by performing essential cleaning tasks including mopping and trash removal
- Support events delivery by preparing and setting up clean serviceware for banquets and functions
- Train and mentor team members by sharing expertise with new stewards to help strengthen team performance
- Comply with regulatory standards by maintaining compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations ensuring the highest standards of guest and team member well-being
