The hotel's location in a city experiencing a creative renaissance allows it to stand out as Pittsburgh’s fearless answer to boutique hospitality, offering guests an unforgettable experience steeped in character and local culture.
As part of the Marcus Hotels & Resorts family, Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh carries forward a 60-year legacy of operational and service excellence. Marcus Hotels & Resorts is known as "People Pleasing People," with a strong dedication to creating extraordinary experiences for both guests and employees. With a growing portfolio of 15 hotels and resorts across the United States, Marcus Hotels & Resorts focuses on maintaining unique property character and personalized service, making it an excellent employer for those passionate about hospitality.
At Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh, individuality and personal growth are celebrated, fostering a culture where every moment truly matters. The hotel embraces core values such as Be Yourself, Lead Yourself, and Make It Count, which cultivate a vibrant and inclusive workplace that encourages creativity and genuine connections with guests. It is a place where hospitality professionals can thrive by bringing their authentic selves to work and contributing to a passionate, supportive team environment.
The Culinary Manager role provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to lead and inspire the kitchen team in delivering exceptional food experiences in a high-volume, upscale hotel setting. This position involves oversight of culinary operations, ensuring that food preparation aligns with hotel-standard recipes to maintain top-quality offerings. You will be responsible for training, supervising, and collaborating with chefs’ staff to create dishes that reflect the hotel’s commitment to excellence and innovation.
Key responsibilities include managing labor and departmental expenses through efficient scheduling and inventory control, maintaining compliance with health and safety standards, and upholding rigorous sanitation practices. The role also requires coordination with other departments, such as engineering, to ensure the kitchen’s equipment is well maintained for optimal functioning. Beyond daily operations, you will have opportunities to contribute to special events, VIP parties, and staff functions, allowing for creative culinary expression and enhanced guest engagement.
The ideal candidate will bring managerial and production experience in similar hotel or resort settings, particularly within high-volume food production environments such as upscale restaurants or multiple-outlet operations. A strong knowledge base of food products, recipes, and cost control, combined with the ability to train and motivate staff, is critical for success. Fluency in English, basic computer skills, and the physical capacity to perform job duties safely are also important.
This full-time position offers competitive benefits including room and dining discounts at Marcus Hotels & Resorts and IHG-branded properties, opportunities for career growth and property transfers, paid time off, flexible scheduling, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance after 30 days. The hotel also offers company-paid life insurance, employee assistance programs, and a 401(k) with employer match, underscoring a commitment to employee wellbeing and development.
