Job Description
Hai Hospitality and LORO, Asian Smokehouse + Bar, are part of a multi-concept, emerging restaurant group based in Austin, Texas. Known for blending hospitality with culinary creativity, the group operates several well-regarded dining concepts including Uchi, Uchiko, Uchiba, and Loro. Their establishments are celebrated not only for exceptional food and drink offerings but also for their strong commitment to teamwork, employee growth, and community engagement. With a focus on hospitality, they aim to create memorable experiences for guests while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for their employees. Hai Hospitality takes pride in its work ethic, craft, and creativity, striving to cultivate a workplace where employees feel proud, valued, and inspired.
The role of Service Assistant (also referred to as Server Assistant) at Hai Hospitality and LORO, Asian Smokehouse + Bar, serves as a crucial part of the front-of-house team, supporting servers and bartenders to ensure a seamless guest experience. This position requires an individual who is attentive, proactive, and ready to contribute to a high-level service environment. The Service Assistant monitors the dining room, expo line, and bar area to promptly assist where needed, ranging from bussing tables to delivering food and organizing curbside orders. It is a dynamic position involving both physical activity and interpersonal interaction with guests and team members.
Hai Hospitality offers flexible scheduling to accommodate both part-time and full-time candidates, making it an excellent opportunity for those needing work-life balance. Employees have the potential to earn approximately $500 per week in tips, along with a $500 sign-on bonus paid in two installments ($250 after training and $250 after 45 days post-training). The company emphasizes internal growth opportunities, offering pathways to advance to roles such as Bartenders with increased responsibility and earning potential. In addition to competitive compensation, Hai Hospitality provides various benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and accident insurance options, an Employee Assistance Program offering mental health services, an employer-matched 401k plan, and dining discounts.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in fast-paced, team-oriented environments with excellent communication skills and a passion for hospitality. Candidates will learn the menu and beverage offerings through comprehensive, peer-led training, and become proficient in supporting service operations to enhance overall guest satisfaction. Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform duties requiring physical mobility are essential. The company also supports reasonable accommodations to ensure all qualified individuals can perform the essential functions of the role. Hai Hospitality is dedicated to diversity, inclusion, and creating a professional, hygienic, and enjoyable workspace. Arizona and Florida locations participate in E-Verify, underscoring their compliance with employment regulations. Overall, this position provides a supportive environment with growth potential for individuals eager to build a career in hospitality within a respected and evolving restaurant group.
