The Line Cook position at Smith & Wollensky plays a vital role in food preparation and kitchen operations, responsible for crafting menu items consistent with the company's high standards of quality and service. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of line cook experience preferably in high-volume or fine dining restaurant
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have weekend availability
  • Ability to be on your feet for a full shift including use of stairs
  • Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds
  • Working knowledge of basic kitchen cooking and prepping terminology
  • Basic kitchen knife skills
  • Ability to read and interpret kitchen tickets and communicate effectively in English

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of line cook experience preferably in high-volume or fine dining restaurants
  • Working knowledge of basic kitchen cooking and food prep terminology
  • Basic kitchen knife skills
  • Ability to read and interpret kitchen tickets (orders)
  • Strong communication skills in English

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food items according to Smith & Wollensky quality and service standards
  • Coordinate orders to ensure timely and accurate cooking
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of all menu items and ingredients used in recipes
  • Maintain proper food temperatures to ensure safety and quality
  • Follow all company safety and sanitation standards
