Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work near heat sources
- Ability to lift, push, or carry up to 40 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and work at a fast pace during busy service times
- High-energy kitchen environment with exposure to heat, sharp tools, steam, and cleaning chemicals
- Fast-paced during peak service periods with tight timing demands
Job Qualifications
- Prior line cook or kitchen experience preferred
- Culinary school a plus
- Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and kitchen equipment
- Ability to follow recipes, prep lists, and direction from chefs
- Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and time management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items following recipes, portion guidelines, and plating standards
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality in every dish prepared
- Execute dishes in a timely manner during service periods
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and labeling procedures (FIFO)
- Set up, stock, and maintain assigned station throughout service
- Monitor product levels and communicate shortages or needs to the Sous Chef
- Assist with prep lists and daily production as needed
- Break down and clean station at the end of each shift
- Work collaboratively with other cooks, chefs, and kitchen staff
- Communicate ticket timing, shortages, and any issues promptly
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and solution-focused attitude
- Follow all food safety standards and local health regulations
- Maintain a clean work area, including equipment, tools, and surfaces
- Report equipment issues or maintenance needs immediately
- Uphold safe work practices to prevent injuries and ensure a safe kitchen environment
