Job Duties

  • Understand menu and techniques required to execute dishes properly
  • report to work on time and ready to work scheduled shift
  • work as part of a team focused on a common goal
  • bring proper tools to do the job such as microplanes, knives, honing steel, tongs, spatula, saucing and plating spoons
  • taste and season food properly regardless of dish simplicity
  • work with different forms of heat and cooking methods
  • receive and apply criticism positively
  • handle various proteins, fruits, vegetables, grains, dry goods, spices, and vinegars
  • actively learn through inquiry
  • keep a clean and organized workstation before, during, and after service
  • know station setup and pars to assist sous chefs in ordering and preparing prep lists
  • identify product quality and freshness
  • perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
