Job Duties
- Understand menu and techniques required to execute dishes properly
- report to work on time and ready to work scheduled shift
- work as part of a team focused on a common goal
- bring proper tools to do the job such as microplanes, knives, honing steel, tongs, spatula, saucing and plating spoons
- taste and season food properly regardless of dish simplicity
- work with different forms of heat and cooking methods
- receive and apply criticism positively
- handle various proteins, fruits, vegetables, grains, dry goods, spices, and vinegars
- actively learn through inquiry
- keep a clean and organized workstation before, during, and after service
- know station setup and pars to assist sous chefs in ordering and preparing prep lists
- identify product quality and freshness
- perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
