The Cook position at Willows Lodge offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about the culinary arts to join a dynamic and world-class culinary team. This role is ideal for those who are motivated, creative, and eager to cultivate their culinary skills while contributing to exceptional guest experiences. The Cook works closely with the culinary leadership to prepare food products for various dining settings including the kitchen, cafeteria, banquets, dining rooms, and fine dining services. This is a regular, full-time position with a competitive hourly wage ranging from $27.30 to $30.90.

Candidates in this role will gain hands-on experience in various cooking techniques such as grilling, sautéing, and frying. The position also provides training on the correct use of kitchen tools and equipment, including knife skills and recipe execution. The Cook will participate in maintaining consistent food preparation standards, minimize waste through cross-utilization strategies, and uphold high-quality ingredient standards.   • active food handler’s certification or the ability to get it

  • at least 21 years of age

Job Duties

  • develop knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures and methods (grill, sauté and fry)
  • experience using knives and various kitchen equipment
  • read and recreate recipes
  • consistent on all food preparation
  • learn how to minimize food waste through cross utilization
  • work with a world class culinary team
  • create workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat)
  • keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • responsible for the quality of ingredients
