Job Description

Thompson Dallas is a remarkable new addition to The National, prominently rising above the Dallas skyline as a 52-story building designed with a striking midcentury-modern hexagon aesthetic. Situated on an entire city block, this luxurious hotel offers 219 guestrooms including 52 suites, along with two distinctive dining options and an expansive 20,000 square feet of stunning event space. Guests can enjoy a variety of amenities including a resort-style pool, a custom-curated fitness facility, a spa, and even a dog park. Thompson Dallas is dedicated to creating an atmosphere that merges history, design, and culture, serving as an inspiring gathering place for both visitors and the local community.

As part of the esteemed Hyatt brand, Thompson Dallas combines sophistication with top-tier service to offer an unparalleled hospitality experience. The hotel aims to stand out through its commitment to architectural beauty, seamless guest services, and a community-focused approach.

The Cook position at Thompson Dallas represents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic culinary team within this vibrant and growing establishment. The cook will be responsible for precisely and efficiently preparing dishes that meet both the culinary and aesthetic standards set forth by the Chef team. This role demands a keen attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency in taste and presentation. The Cook’s responsibilities extend beyond mere preparation, including mise en place maintenance, station upkeep, and comprehensive kitchen closure procedures, all crucial elements in sustaining a healthy and productive work environment.

In this role, cooks are expected to execute food products that align with Hyatt’s recognized standards and maintain a thorough understanding of cooking times, temperatures, and kitchen protocols. The Cook will be entrusted with properly handling, storing, and rotating all food products to ensure safety and quality. Professionalism is key, as punctuality for scheduled shifts, meetings, and events is mandatory along with readiness to work immediately upon arrival.

Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation at the workstation, bringing personal cutlery tools or knife rolls, and following all safety and hygiene standards are integral to the daily responsibilities. This position provides an excellent platform for individuals looking to advance their culinary careers in an upscale or fine dining environment, backed by the resources and reputation of Hyatt. Food Handler Certifications are required at the time of hire, ensuring all team members adhere to the necessary legal and health standards.

Whether you are seeking to kickstart your career in a reputable hospitality group or to elevate your existing culinary skills within a prestigious setting, the Cook position at Thompson Dallas presents a unique avenue for professional growth and achievement.
