Job Description

The Eye Tooth is a vibrant and renowned restaurant located in Anchorage, Alaska, known for its commitment to quality food, excellent service, and fostering a welcoming environment for both guests and employees. As a popular dining destination, The Eye Tooth strongly values teamwork, professionalism, and career growth within the hospitality industry. The restaurant not only focuses on providing an exceptional dining experience but also embraces the concept of nurturing talent from within. Many of its chefs and managers actually began their hospitality careers in entry-level positions at The Eye Tooth, which truly highlights the company’s dedication to employee development and advancement.

Currently, The Eye Tooth is seeking reliable dishwashers to join their kitchen team. This opportunity is much more than merely handling dishes; it represents the first crucial step towards building a career in hospitality. Evening availability is a requirement for applicants, reflecting the restaurant’s busy service hours. Being a dishwasher at The Eye Tooth involves maintaining a clean and organized dish station, supporting the kitchen staff with food preparation tasks when necessary, and helping to ensure that overall service runs smoothly. This position requires a hardworking individual committed to being an integral part of a collaborative, fast-paced kitchen environment.

The restaurant offers competitive pay and a shift meal to its dishwashing team members, alongside flexible scheduling options that cater to individuals with varying availability. Employees benefit from marked opportunities for growth within the company, creating an excellent environment to build skills and climb the career ladder in the restaurant business. Being a part of The Eye Tooth means contributing to a team that values respect, kindness, and mutual support among co-workers. The atmosphere is energetic and fast-paced, requiring stamina, good manual dexterity, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Dishwashers are expected to adhere strictly to all safety and sanitation policies, operate commercial dishwashing equipment, and manage various kitchen tools and utensils responsibly. This role involved physical demands, including standing for long periods, lifting over 30 pounds, and working in hot and humid conditions.

In addition to the core duties, The Eye Tooth provides a range of enticing benefits for its employees such as regular raises every three months, a profit-sharing bonus program, and comprehensive insurance coverage including medical, dental, vision, and life. Employees are also welcome to join the Employee Assistance Program and take advantage of a 401K plan with company matching contributions. Paid time off ensures work-life balance, while meal and drink plans add an extra perk to each shift. Employees have access to free movies at the Bear Tooth Theatrepub, free lift passes for skiing or snowboarding at Alyeska, discounted memberships at the Alaska Rock Gym, fun employee parties, and favorable discounts on merchandise.

Overall, this dishwasher position at The Eye Tooth represents much more than cleaning dishes; it is a meaningful gateway into a rewarding career in hospitality, supported by a strong culture of growth, respect, and comprehensive employee benefits.
