The role in question is a vital culinary position focused on the preparation, production, and quality control of meats, fish, fowl, and other food items at the front line station. This position demands a skilled cook who can manage the preparation lists, follow recipes accurately using math skills, and maintain the highest standards of food quality and safety. Job Requirements
- Hold a current Food Handler Card
- minimum three years cooking experience preferred
- basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations
- good knowledge of broiler and sauté cooking
- knowledge of sanitation standards
- ability to operate kitchen equipment
- basic math skills
- basic English proficiency
- ability to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
- possess manual dexterity to handle kitchen tools
- ability to work in extreme temperature ranges
- ability to perform duties in confined spaces
Job Qualifications
- Hold a current Food Handler Card
- three years cooking experience preferred
- broiler cooking experience preferred
- knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
- good working knowledge of broiler and sauté cooking fundamentals
- good knowledge of sanitation standards
- knowledge of operating kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, and kettles
- basic math skills
- basic English proficiency
- ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions
- ability to operate beverage equipment
Job Duties
- Prepare daily preparation lists for production
- employ math skills to follow recipes
- prepare all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest check specifications
- visually inspect and select only food items of the highest standard
- check and control proper storage of product and portion control
- maintain cleanliness and working condition of refrigeration, equipment, and work areas
- maintain all logs related to cooling, heating, and temperature
- adhere to company policies and procedures
- follow safety and security procedures and rules
- know department fire prevention and emergency procedures
- utilize protective equipment
- report unsafe conditions and incidents to management
- provide a safe work environment
- maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
- perform related duties as requested by management
- assist other kitchen personnel when needed
