The Baker will be entrusted with taking full ownership of the baking process, ensuring consistency and quality in every batch produced. This includes following standardized recipes with precision, troubleshooting any issues that arise during preparation, and working efficiently to meet production demands without compromising on quality. The position requires a proactive approach, with the baker maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitized workspace at all times.
Interaction with guests and fellow team members is an essential part of the role, and the ideal candidate is one who greets others with friendliness and a positive attitude. Whether the shift demands standing for long durations or adapting to the fast-paced environment, the baker must demonstrate stamina and concentration. This job can be either full-time or part-time, with shifts that may involve up to nine hours of standing and walking. The physical demands are significant, as the role involves lifting heavy ingredients and equipment and requires specific visual acuity to ensure the highest standards in baking.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card, and have experience in baking, preferably with a minimum of six months in a similar role. Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are necessary for understanding recipes, safety protocols, and workplace interactions. Reporting directly to the Lead Baker or Kitchen Manager, the baker will be expected to contribute to the overall success of the kitchen operation by maintaining safety, efficiency, and exceptional food quality. - work at a rapid and efficient pace to keep up with production needs
- maintain a clean and sanitary workspace at all times
- perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on the needs of the business
