Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • graduate equivalent of recognized nursing program with state requirements
  • valid state licensure or certification as EMT-Paramedic or EMT-Intermediate
  • current CPR and AED certification
  • fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • successful completion of FDA approved Medical Support Specialist training
  • a minimum of two years clinical or hospital work experience

Job Qualifications

  • graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program
  • currently licensed or certified in the assigned state as EMT-Paramedic or EMT-Intermediate
  • current CPR and AED certification
  • completion of FDA approved training for Medical Support Specialists
  • minimum two years clinical or hospital experience
  • familiarity with plasma collection regulations and medical protocols

Job Duties

  • determine donor eligibility including informed consent and medical history review
  • manage donor adverse reactions and evaluate donor safety
  • review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable findings
  • follow medical emergencies SOPs and coordinate with Center Physician and emergency services
  • support employee vaccination programs and manage employee health incidents
  • act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support related investigations
  • provide center level support for environmental health and safety protocols
