Job Description
Soules Foods is a prosperous family-owned food company with a remarkable legacy spanning nearly 50 years. Situated in Tyler, Texas, Soules Foods is recognized as a leading national producer of ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook chicken and beef products, holding the distinction of being the number one producer of chicken and beef fajitas in the United States. The company serves a diverse portfolio of delicious and high-quality products distributed widely across the US to retail outlets, food service distributors, and restaurants. Its prominent customers include major retailers and distributors such as Walmart, Costco, Sam's Club, Sysco, and HEB. Founded in 1975 by John Soules Sr., the company is now in the second generation of family leadership and has experienced significant growth over the past decade. With annual sales approximating $1 billion, Soules Foods employs over 2,000 people and operates three manufacturing facilities located in Gainesville, Georgia; Valley, Alabama; and Tyler, Texas, where its headquarters reside.
The role of Plant Receptionist at Soules Foods is pivotal in maintaining an efficient and welcoming front desk environment within the Human Resources department. This position reports directly to the Senior Human Resources Manager and serves as the primary initial contact point for visitors and callers arriving at the plant. The Plant Receptionist's work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The individual in this role plays a critical role in front desk operations by providing exceptional administrative support, handling HR supply inventory and ordering, as well as managing the flow of visitors and employees within the HR area.
The ideal candidate for this position is dependable, highly organized, and capable of multitasking in a dynamic and sometimes fast-paced office environment. Being bilingual in Spanish is a requirement, reflecting the company’s diverse workforce and commitment to clear communication. The Plant Receptionist is entrusted with responsibilities such as greeting visitors warmly, directing them appropriately, handling incoming employee inquiries, and managing employee identification badges and access levels. Additionally, the receptionist assists in maintaining orderliness in the HR training rooms, managing temporary ID badges for visitors and contractors, translating documents and conversations when needed, and distributing employee memorial bereavement boxes.
This role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and intermediate Excel skills. The receptionist must demonstrate the ability to stay calm and effective during potentially high-pressure or tense situations involving employees. Working at Soules Foods also means adapting to an environment that can change rapidly, with the flexibility to visit production facilities that may expose the employee to moderate noise, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperature or humidity conditions.
This position demands physical stamina to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, use hands for various tasks, and communicate clearly. The company values employees with reliable transportation due to the nature of the work environment and locations. Soules Foods offers a robust benefits package including vacation and sick days, medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k plan with company match, telemedicine services, an onsite clinic at Tyler and Valley locations, free annual health screenings, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and life insurance.
By joining Soules Foods as a Plant Receptionist, candidates will contribute to a thriving company culture grounded in quality, simplicity, and respect, while enjoying opportunities for growth and development within a supportive family-owned business environment.
