The role of Plant Mechanic within the Facility Operations team is a vital position that ensures the hospital's infrastructure runs efficiently and safely. This is a full-time position with varied shifts, including night shifts from 10 PM to 6:30 AM Monday through Friday, with an 18% night shift differential as well as day shifts from 6 AM to 2:30 PM Sunday through Thursday. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is currently available for qualified applicants, underscoring the importance of this role within the health facility.

As a Plant Mechanic, you will employ your knowledge of plant operations to maintain critical hospital equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, boilers, air handling units, and the building management system (BMS). Your daily responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairs, and monitoring equipment performance using modern instrumentation and computer systems. This position demands a high level of technical skill combined with strong independent decision-making capabilities, as the maintenance of utility and infrastructure systems directly impacts the comfort and safety of patients and clinical staff.

You will work as part of a diverse team of technicians, supporting the hospital’s mission by ensuring all mechanical systems are reliable and efficient. Emergency response readiness as part of the Fire Response Team is also a critical component of the job. Additional duties include assisting with energy conservation programs, keeping detailed logs of maintenance activities, and adhering to safety standards governing plant operations and healthcare facilities.
