The Plant Manager role at Reddy Ice is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, including manufacturing, distribution, delivery execution, maintenance, sales, environmental health and safety, and purchasing. This full-time, regular position requires a proactive and strategic leader who can manage the plant’s profit and loss to control costs while driving operational performance. The Plant Manager is a change leader who fosters a culture of continuous improvement by utilizing lean methodologies such as VSM, Kaizen, and A3 to identify and implement process improvements. They are charged with ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency throughout the plant, engaging with both internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain superior customer service.

Key responsibilities include managing financial goals by tracking P&L metrics, participating in financial analysis, overseeing capital expenditures, and supporting market management in strategic planning. The Plant Manager also leads operational performance, ensuring that manufacturing and logistics activities meet or exceed production schedules and customer requirements. They maintain crucial safety programs such as PSM, RMP, and HACCP, while promoting a safety-focused culture that prioritizes accident prevention and compliance.

Additionally, the Plant Manager is responsible for managing delivery execution, including hiring, training, and performance management of delivery staff and drivers. They oversee scheduling, route efficiency, and compliance with safety regulations such as hours of service and vehicle inspections. The role involves being an incident commander or responder during hazardous material events, emphasizing quick and effective decision-making.
