As a Maintenance Supervisor at Smithfield, you will hold a vital leadership role that ensures the continuous operational efficiency of the plant. Your team will be responsible for installing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on all critical equipment, facilities, utilities, and powerhouse systems. This role demands a proactive approach to minimizing mechanical downtime and maximizing production efficiency while overseeing key processes in production to maintain smooth product flow and peak operation of production lines. By leading and coordinating maintenance teams, you will contribute directly to the success and productivity of the facility.

Your responsibilities will also include maintenance scheduling and planning, ensuring collaboration with production teams to address equipment and facility repair needs in a timely manner. You will develop and implement robust maintenance systems such as preventive and predictive maintenance programs, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safety protocols. Performance monitoring is integral, and you will establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track maintenance efficiency, equipment reliability, contractor performance, and overall equipment effectiveness, while routinely reporting these metrics to maintenance management.

Smithfield emphasizes compliance with USDA regulations and insists on maintaining accurate documentation and records of maintenance activities and inventory. When required, you will take charge during crisis situations or in the absence of key personnel to ensure continuity and completion of maintenance tasks. The position calls for a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Superior communication abilities, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are crucial. The role may require working long hours and weekends, highlighting the need for dedication and flexibility.
