These fasteners are critical components used extensively across aerospace, military, and industrial sectors, supporting high-performance and safety-critical applications. Greer Stop Nut operates as part of the Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) global family, a leading organization in manufacturing complex aerospace components and critical materials. Established as a key division within the fasteners industry, Greer Stop Nut benefits from the extensive resources, technological expertise, and global network of its parent corporation, which is known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and precision in manufacturing processes.
Precision Castparts Corp, acquired by Berkshire Hathaway in 2016, has grown to become a dominant force in the aerospace and industrial manufacturing markets, boasting over 120 operating locations worldwide and employing approximately 20,000 professionals. The company is recognized for its dedication to delivering superior products that meet the stringent demands of customers in aerospace, power generation, oil and gas, and military sectors. This commitment is reflected in the rigor of its manufacturing standards and its continuous pursuit of low-cost, high-quality, and on-time production.
The Plant Maintenance & Safety Manager role at Greer Stop Nut in Nashville represents a full-time, on-site leadership opportunity focused on facility maintenance and environmental health and safety management. This position requires comprehensive expertise in overseeing plant maintenance operations as well as implementing and managing safety programs aligned with regulatory requirements and company policies.
In this role, the manager will be responsible for coordinating all facets of plant maintenance, including oversight of mechanical and electrical engineering aspects, tool and die maintenance, and overall equipment reliability. The manager will ensure that production machinery, such as presses, CNC machines, and forklifts, operates optimally with minimal downtime. This includes leading preventive and predictive maintenance activities and managing vendor relationships for facility infrastructure services like HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and compressed air systems. Working closely with operations and quality teams, the Plant Maintenance & Safety Manager will align maintenance strategies with production targets, driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Additionally, the manager will spearhead safety and environmental health initiatives, including the enforcement of safety programs, management of employee safety training, and compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The role encompasses maintaining documentation and records related to safety data sheets, regulatory compliance, and sustainability efforts. The manager will also oversee workplace organization initiatives such as 6S programs to enhance workplace safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
This leadership position demands excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills, requiring the manager to engage multiple stakeholders in maintenance and safety projects while justifying budgetary requirements and capital expenditures. Candidates ideally possess a bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, occupational health, or a related field, along with significant leadership experience in facility maintenance and environmental health and safety, preferably within aerospace or similarly regulated manufacturing environments. This role also offers relocation assistance and requires candidates to comply with U.S. export control laws due to the nature of production processes involved.
Overall, the Plant Maintenance & Safety Manager role at Greer Stop Nut offers a dynamic and influential career opportunity within a global leader in precision manufacturing. It provides the chance to contribute to critical safety and maintenance functions essential to the company's operational excellence and its continued leadership in the aerospace fasteners industry.
