The role of a Plant Care Specialist at Rentokil is vital for maintaining the health and appearance of plants in customer environments. This full-time position focuses on visiting various client sites daily to provide expert plant care. The Plant Care Specialist performs numerous trained tasks such as grooming, rotating, watering, pruning, and trimming plants, as well as clearing debris from planters. A key part of the job involves accurately gauging soil moisture using a soil probe to ensure plants receive optimal hydration. Fertilizing the plants as needed and maintaining the overall cleanliness and aesthetics of plant displays are also essential responsibilities. The Specialist is expected to prevent any damage to surrounding areas like floors, walls, furniture, or carpets from water or moisture, requiring attention to detail and care during every visit.

Additionally, the Plant Care Specialist helps with a variety of installations including interior and exterior container gardens, wall-mounted plant systems, and commercial plantscapes. Seasonal duties may include assisting with holiday decoration setups and takedown. The role also involves maintaining equipment related to scenting and air purification. The position demands strong communication and problem-solving skills, the ability to safely operate ladders, and experience handling pruning tools. Drivers must be comfortable operating service vans and trucks in both urban and rural areas.
