Job Description
The hiring establishment is a retail store that emphasizes maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both customers and employees. As part of a commitment to high standards in hygiene and safety, the store values the role of sanitation and maintenance professionals who ensure that all areas of the premises are immaculate and well-maintained. This company operates in a fast-paced retail environment where customer service and store upkeep are of paramount importance to creating a positive shopping experience. The total store includes all areas such as sales floors, restrooms, break rooms, exterior surroundings including flower beds and yards, and storage or maintenance spaces.
As a Total Store Sanitation Representative, the role is critical to achieving the store’s cleanliness and safety goals. This position involves vigilance and a sense of urgency in maintaining hygiene and sanitation across the entire store, including proper disposal of trash and debris, upkeep of hand wash stations, and ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standard operating procedures. The representative will use specific chemical programs for cleaning and organize the maintenance room effectively. Beyond physical maintenance, the role requires dynamic interaction with customers by assisting with product locations and responding to customer needs with a service-oriented attitude. When necessary, the employee may also perform duties typically assigned to customer service assistants.
The position is designed for individuals 18 years or older, with a high school diploma or GED, who have good knowledge of OSHA guidelines and chemical safety procedures. Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks, take initiative, and work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Physical demands are significant, requiring the ability to walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and navigate various store environments safely. Safety certifications and orientations related to food handling, basic HAZMAT, and chemical safety will be completed after hire to equip the employee with the necessary knowledge for compliance and effective job performance.
Overall, this role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who value a hands-on, active position in maintaining a clean and safe retail environment while engaging positively with customers and supporting the store team. It combines elements of facility maintenance, customer service, and safety compliance, making it a multifaceted position that contributes directly to the overall store operations and customer satisfaction.
