The role of Club Manager at Taymax’s Planet Fitness in Vacaville, CA, is integral to maintaining the highest standards of gym operations and member experience. The position involves strategic leadership and effective management of gym staff members including Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians. A Club Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining a welcoming environment for members and guests, ensuring all staff adhere to superior customer service standards. Leadership is delivered in a positive, motivating manner focused on continual training and development to sustain a high-performing team.

The Club Manager oversees scheduling and coverage, manages employee payroll, resolves staff concerns, and handles disciplinary processes. They actively participate in front desk activities, greet members warmly, assist new members with tours and sign-ups, and respond to inquiries both in-person and via phone. Facility upkeep is another critical element, with responsibilities including maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the club and coordinating any necessary repairs with maintenance teams. Additionally, the Club Manager drives marketing efforts by training staff on current promotions, manages financial authorizations such as expenditures and refunds, completes banking processes, and tracks operational statistics spanning weekly to annual reports.

Ideal candidates are passionate about fitness and health, possess strong leadership, team building, and conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate a hardworking and enthusiastic approach to management. The role requires someone with computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Suite, who can quickly adapt to new systems. They must be able to work both independently and collaboratively and should hold a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation. Physical demands involve continual standing, walking, occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs, and exposure to occasional toxic chemicals.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • one to three years of management experience preferred

  • computer proficiency with Microsoft Suite
  • ability to learn systems quickly
