This role is instrumental in partnering on and leading operations across multiple geographic locations within a large-scale network enterprise and multi-enclave environment. The System Administrator will be responsible for providing comprehensive systems and software operations and maintenance support, ensuring that mission-critical IT services run smoothly and effectively. This position demands a technically proficient and customer-oriented professional experienced in desktop software applications, IT Service Management (ITSM) software, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) concepts.\n\nThe System Administrator will play a pivotal role in supporting classified systems authentication, maintaining the functionality and security of PKI servers, and assisting a broad range of customers including senior executives and remote users. Key responsibilities include handling walkup customers at the PKI main office, troubleshooting token card and soft certificate issues, training Trusted Agents at remote sites, and performing routine server maintenance such as patching and upgrades. The role also requires active collaboration with the customer’s Engineering division to implement new PKI technologies and adherence to stringent security policies and strategies. Communication skills are essential as the administrator must document technical findings, mentor junior team members, and provide clear customer service. This position involves working independently and innovatively to deliver technical solutions and to ensure the highest level of operational capability for the Department of Defense. This employment is full-time and aligned with the standards and security requirements of government contracts, including clearance and citizenship prerequisites.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 2 years or Associate's with 6 years or High School Diploma with 8 years of related experience
- US citizenship
- TS/SCI with Poly required or TS/SCI with willingness to obtain and maintain poly
- Meet DoDM 8140.03 (DoD 8570) IT System Admin Intermediate certification requirements or higher such as FITSP-O, GFACT, CASP+, CCNP Security, or CCSP
Job Qualifications
- Mastery of IdAM technical areas and broad expertise across multiple level systems
- Experience with RCVS, OCSP, Certificate Authorities and other PKI technologies
- Knowledge of Intelligence Community systems security standards, concepts and tools
- Experience working independently on technical solutions in support of a client
- Experience with issuing, troubleshooting, and managing token cards to support 2FA
- Familiarity with troubleshooting soft-certificate issues for customers locally and remotely
- Experience with Tier 2 system/server administration
- Experience supporting a broad range of assignments requiring originality and innovation
- Experience developing methodologies and presenting solutions to team members
- Experience collaborating with and reviewing the work of team members
- Experience with log reviews, incident analysis, and issue trend identification
- Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools such as ServiceNow
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Ability to work independently
Job Duties
- Interact with customers, senior managers, and customers to handle service inquiries and problems
- Coordinate with customers and stakeholders to collect data, conduct analysis, develop, and implement solutions associated with incident tickets and requirements
- Implement, troubleshoot and maintain complex PKI, RCVS, OCSP, and other Identity Management tools and systems
- Enforce security strategies and policies within established guidelines across the O&M IdAM function
- Design, develop and document solutions to complex active directory and windows technical issues
- Provide follow-up reports for root cause analysis, engineering technical assessment and process improvement initiatives
- Mentor junior team members
- Update troubleshooting documentation for 24/7/365 IT Operations Center watch personnel
