Job Requirements

  • Prior experience in preparing foods
  • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal
  • Provide legible communication
  • High school graduate or equivalent culinary training certificate
  • NYC Food Handlers Permit
  • Ability to exert physical effort in transporting 5 to 50 pounds
  • Ability to endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
  • Ability to remain in stationary position for undetermined length of time throughout work shift

Job Duties

  • Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
  • Label and stock all ingredients to be organized and easily accessible
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
  • Prepare ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting, etc
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by approved procedures, sanitizing surfaces, etc
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Comply with sanitation guidelines
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
