Our newest store located in Greenvale, NY, is an exciting addition to a well-known chain of pizzerias, recognized for delivering high-quality gourmet pizzas made with fresh ingredients and traditional techniques. We are currently seeking a full-time Pizza Maker to join our dynamic Pizza Department. This role is integral to the smooth operation of the kitchen and overall success of the store. The Pizza Maker will not only prepare various pizza doughs and gourmet toppings but will also have supervisory responsibilities, overseeing and training staff pizza makers to ensure consistency and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about the art of pizza making, knowledgeable about food safety and sanitation, and possesses excellent leadership abilities. This position offers the opportunity to train at one of our sister locations initially, providing valuable hands-on experience and exposure to our company culture and culinary standards.
In addition to hands-on pizza preparation, responsibilities include monitoring ingredient inventory, maintaining clean and sanitary workstations, and ensuring all cooking equipment is properly sterilized. The Pizza Maker is expected to prepare superior quality pizzas following company recipes, manage customer orders with accuracy and timeliness, and contribute to the overall positive dining experience by adhering to kitchen safety protocols and operational guidelines. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and management effectively.
The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience working in a fast-paced pizza or restaurant environment, a solid understanding of baking techniques and the bread-making process, and a commitment to upholding health and safety standards. A food handler's license is preferred but not mandatory. Job Duties
- Preparing pizza dough, sauces, and various toppings, such as tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, onions, and meats
- monitoring the temperature of the pizza ovens as well as cooking times
- preparing high-quality pizzas according to company recipes
- monitoring inventory and placing orders for more supplies as needed
- cleaning workstations before pizza preparation
- ensuring that all utensils and cooking equipment are sterilized before each use
- plating or packaging pizzas accordingly
- managing all food order slips and ensuring that customers' orders are completed in a timely manner
- disposing of expired or spoiled ingredients at the end of each shift
- other duties and functions as assigned
