As a Boochyard Pizza Cook, you will play an integral role in our on-site taproom, the Boochyard, which serves as a vibrant community gathering space where guests experience our innovative beverage offerings alongside quality food. In this fast-paced, high-impact position, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking pizzas and similar menu items under the daily guidance of the Senior Kitchen Lead. Your efforts will directly contribute to delivering delicious food and a memorable experience for every visitor. Beyond cooking, you will embody our company values by offering knowledgeable and enthusiastic support to guests and the team, ensuring that the Boochyard remains a welcoming, clean, and enjoyable place for all.

This role requires efficiency, accuracy, and professionalism in food prep and service, including washing, chopping, and storing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, and adhering to all health and safety regulations. You will also assist with dishwashing, support kitchen staff with various tasks, and help keep the taproom tidy and inviting. Interaction with guests is a key element of this position, as you will answer questions about menu items, resolve order issues, and create a positive atmosphere that reflects our values.

The position offers $18.00 per hour plus tips and requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when necessary. Job Requirements

  • Preferred experience in kitchen or restaurant
  • Must have CA Food Handlers card or be willing to obtain before hire date
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate on creative seasonal menu items
  • Willingness to respond promptly to guest inquiries and complaints
  • Flexible availability including different shifts and overtime
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be self-motivated and responsible

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant preferred
  • Must have or be willing to obtain CA Food Handlers card from San Diego County Department of Environmental Services
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to collaborate with kitchen team in creating seasonal offerings and menu items

Job Duties

  • Perform prep and cooking of pizza and similar food accurately under guidance of Sr. Kitchen Lead
  • Uphold company values and be a knowledgeable Boochyard resource
  • Provide prep and food service with efficiency, accuracy, and professionalism
  • Assist with preparation of ingredients including washing, chopping, and storing vegetables, meats, and other items
  • Assist in dishwashing and maintaining clean, organized area
  • Support kitchen staff with other tasks as needed
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks including washing, sanitizing, and storing pots, pans, utensils, and equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards, including emptying trash
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Deliver food to guests and ensure order accuracy
  • Interact positively with guests, answer menu questions, and respond to issues
  • Consistently maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and general upkeep of taproom
  • Handle additional responsibilities as required or requested
