The role of a Pizza Cook at IRHG is crucial to maintaining the high standards that the group promises to its guests. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about delivering consistent, high-quality dishes while working in a team-oriented kitchen environment. As a Pizza Cook, you will be responsible for preparing dishes with precision and care, ensuring the food not only meets but exceeds the expectations of the guests. The job emphasizes learning and growth, encouraging cooks to master various cooking techniques including homemade pastas, bread baking, and cooking with wood fire grills and ovens. There is a focus on whole animal butchery techniques, preparing items for grilling, broiling, frying, and sautéing, and adhering to strict kitchen rules, policies, and sanitation requirements. This role requires responsibility for the quality of every plate served and maintaining a clean and organized workstation. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in kitchen preparation and line cook experience
  • Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
  • Basic food cost knowledge
  • Understanding and knowledge of kitchen safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and restaurant employees

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in kitchen preparation and line cook experience
  • Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
  • Basic food cost knowledge
  • Understanding and knowledge of kitchen safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
  • Ability to communicate clearly with managers and other kitchen and restaurant employees

Job Duties

  • Willingness to learn how to make homemade pastas and bread on a daily basis
  • Interested in learning how to cook with wood fire grills and ovens
  • Interested in performing whole animal butchery techniques
  • Accurately and efficiently prepare the highest quality cuisine for guests
  • Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
  • Adhere to all DHEC regulations for cleanliness and sanitation
  • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure smooth service
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, saute burners, convection oven flat top range and refrigeration equipment
  • Prepare items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or maintaining
  • Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up
  • Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
  • Close the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations
  • Assist others in closing the kitchen
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement
