The Pizza Chef role at California Pizza Kitchen offers a dynamic and fun work environment where creativity and passion for food are highly valued. As a vital member of the kitchen team, the Pizza Chef is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality and ensuring exceptional sanitation practices are followed at all times. This role involves expertly handling the "Dough-Pro" machine to prepare dough, timely preparation of pizza recipes, supporting line checks, and completing prep sheets to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Additionally, the Pizza Chef prepares all necessary station items, promotes safe and sanitary handling of kitchen tools and equipment, and manages station opening, closing, and side work duties with consistency.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three months related experience or equivalent training
  • availability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks

  • passion for delivering excellent guest service

Job Duties

  • Maintain the highest standards for food quality and sanitation
  • assure timely preparation of all pizza station recipes
  • operate and be an expert with the Dough-Pro machine
  • support the line checks process and complete prep par sheets every shift
  • prepare all necessary items for the pizza station
  • practice and teach safe and sanitary handling of kitchen tools and equipment
  • maintain proper temperature of equipment and perform station opening, closing, and side work duties each shift
